Celery

Blood pressure reduction. Cholesterol reduction. Immune support. Celery, at least in animal studies, shows several possible health benefits. One of its active compounds, phthalides, has been shown to aid blood vessel dilation, lower blood pressure, and decrease cholesterol levels by triggering the release of more bile, which binds to cholesterol and sweeps it out of the system. In addition, its coumarins can improve the efficiency of certain white blood cells, enhancing immune system function.
