Thyme

Antibacterial.  Antimicrobial.  Like many spices, fine contains volatile coils that explained into contaminating foods, notably produce such as lettuce.  These have been shown to help neutralize many common pathogens, including strains of E. coli and Staph that can cause serious food-borne illness. Kaempferal, a flavonoid in thyme, has been fairly well studied and may the risk of cardiovascular disease and certain cancers.
