Green Smoothie

This smoothie is a sweet, fruity green smoothie. Like our other smoothie recipes, it is meant to be a meal replacement. It is a great way to get your servings of fruits, vegetables and fiber all in one delicious drink. Check out the nutrition info and you will see this is a fiber, calcium and potassium bomb!

 

MAKES: 4 Servings
PREP/COOK TIME: 20 minutes

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups almond milk (soy or non fat milk)

  • 1/2 cup Icelandic yogurt

  • 2 cups frozen kale

  • 2 kiwi (peeled and chopped)

  • 1 apple (cored and chopped)

  • 1 banana (peeled and chopped)

  • 2 celery stalks(roughly chopped)

  • 1 tablespoon black strap molasses

  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds

  • 3 tablespoon ground flax

  • 2 to 3 cups frozen pineapple(to taste)

  • 1 inch piece peeled and chopped ginger

  • 1 lemon, juiced

 DIRECTIONS

  1. In a heavy duty smoothie blender, add the milk, lemon juice and molasses. Then add remaining ingredients.

  2. If your blender has a timed smoothie setting you may want to run twice to get everything nice and smooth.

Will last a day in the refrigerator.
